AARAN RUSSO
My heart hasn't calmed yet, it's still racing like it did when I saw her lying unconscious on the couch. There was a cut across her forehead and dried blood lined until her left eyebrow. Her lips dried. I felt something familiar after decades—the fear of losing someone right in front of me.
The last time I felt this was when Sia was burning in front of me. I didn't even feel this feeling while uncle—No, I killed Carlo, but today I am feeling that again. The fear where I could never hear her again, or I could never look into her eyes or the fear of never going to the bakery and asking them to bake her favorite chocolate cupcake with extra choco chips because she asked me for it.
