RANVI SHEKHAWAT
The next morning I woke up with an empty space beside him. His side of the bed was cold, indicating that he wore up before me and when I looked for him in our bedroom, he was nowhere to be found. There was slight pain in between my legs, but Aaran’s aftercare has always made me feel comfortable.
My heart clenched at his sudden departure, but I know, I know that if he walked away without any note, it must be something serious. Last day when our parents suddenly came uninvited which I knew they would—I was scared not because they didn't know about us but because of the questions they threw on us.
“Why did you have to marry like this?” I remember my mother asking me this question with a straight face and flattered nose. She makes that face every time she is disappointed and upset.
