ADITI SHEKHAWAT
The darkness of the room hugged me like a cocoon, a shiver ran down my spine and even though darkness should be chilling and yet it brings warmth to me. It soothes the nerves in my brain that felt like it was on fire ever since Maahi dropped the news to me like a nuclear bomb. So much mess within the duration of three days.
My tears have dried now, my throat has gone dry, but no one replied to all my banging on the door. I want to talk to Krunal or my sister but I have no way and tomorrow I’ll get married to a stranger. Dad showed up a few hours ago right after Maahi left me alone with the ghost of betrayal. He told me that the man he chose for me is perfect.
When I deny him, telling him that I don't want to get married to anyone other than my boyfriend—he told me that he is my father and as my father he has all the rights to choose things for me. It made me question one thing about myself. A few years ago I was Shekhawat—Virendra Shekhawat’s youngest daughter. Now I am Raghuwanshi Bhavin Raghuvanshi’s only daughter and tomorrow I’ll be xyz’s wife.
